What we believePreparing for the Kingdom of God ministry, is a non-denominational ministry that focuses on the witnessing of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to all people everywhere as a principle and in obedience to the Great Commission (See Matthew 28:19-20). Our lives and convictions are based on the teachings of the Holy Bible. We embrace all biblical teachings without reservation. Our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ and His redemptive work through Calvary’s cross. To us “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:15-16 NIV). While we wait for the soon coming of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, we keep watch in prayer (Luke 21:36) together breaking bread in fellowship (Acts 2:46) and keeping busy in the harvest field (Luke 12:35-40).
The teachings in the bible are sufficient for holy living, for training in righteousness, for correction and rebuking (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe in all the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit according to 1 Corinthians 12 and Galatians 5:22. We consider ourselves as members of the invisible church of our Lord Jesus Christ and we believe the gifts are for the common good of the body (1 Corinthians 14:26b). Furthermore, we have a firm hope in the Rapture of all the faithful believers and the resurrection of the saints and the condemned.
Brief testimony about this ministryThis home-based ministry was started by Brother Glenn Van Rooyen, his wife Desiree, and their then eight year old daughter, Charis. This was meant as a normal family fellowship group, meeting every night to praying together and allowing each one to read from the Word of God. Our meeting together every night as a family helped us break away from the habit of watching television. This went on for about two years until the Lord Jesus Christ surprisingly visited my daughter, Charis, on the 25th of January, 2010, saying: “I love My children. My daughter Charis, I am your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I am going to show you visions and you must tell your father." The Lord started speaking to her by predicting the date on which I would get a job. I was unemployed for a full year and I was praying every day for a job, and this was the first thing He took care about in the early days of His visitations to Charis. The Lord has since been visiting her every night faithfully. Although, the content of the messages He gives her are personal and mainly to the individual members of our ministry, He told us to share this testimony with others and that the teaching He gives are universal and should be shared with other people to build and encourage them.
The Lord speaks directly to Charis and she sees His form. He speaks to her or writes on the ‘white sheet’ that accompanies Him on His visits. The gifts of the ‘Word of knowledge’ and ‘Word of wisdom’ according to 1 Corinthians 12 operates powerfully through her.
Our articles and the messages the convey
The articles we wrote and freely share with you are based on actual words the Lord gives Charis. These teachings from the Lord are backed by supporting scriptural references. We share our testimony and experiences through these articles, while we also highlight very important biblical teachings which we noticed are either wrongly applied or ignored by our fellow believers. By this, we do not claim to know it all, and that is why we only confine ourselves to the teachings the Lord gives and write articles about these. We do not question the Lord, but obey and learn as He teaches us.
The testimony we profess is not intended to promote us or our ministry, but to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord is appealing through us to the individual members of His body to live biblical and to obey Him. Furthermore, in our articles, we show through examples of our Lord’s dealing with us and how we have to endure the ‘fiery’ rebukes from Him. This we do, not just to expose our many weaknesses, but to draw your attention to His Holiness, discipline and patience. We do so to warn the casual and lukewarm Christian who despises His grace. Often, we as people are selective in our understanding of God. We wisely accept His love only, but despise His discipline. We disobey the Lord and hide behind excuses. The Lord knows when we are able to resist wrong doing. When we do wrong He accredits it as wilful sin and disobedience, and there will be consequences. Through His many messages to us and to members of our fellowship group, the Lord warned about excuses and some brethren were punished for wilful sins and disobedience.
To mention but a few examples of punishments the Lord meted out. Some were punished to read the bible for six hours a day while others were to pray for five hours a day. Some were told to wake up 01:00 a.m. and pray for an hour and go to bed for an hour and get up after that hour of resting to pray for another hour plus two full hours of bible reading. It seems tough but it is much better than HELL. The individuals concerned obeyed, but not faithfully so the Lord in His mercy told them after a few days to stop and go back to their normal prayers and bible reading. This is for your encouragement!
In conclusion, when the Lord speaks to us, He speaks to you as well and expects of you to obey when you know the word spoken appeals to you also. As a believer, you must respond by faith to teachings of correction, for it is meant to build you up, and to encourage you in truth. The bible says: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into PRACTICE” with a promise “and the God of peace will be with you” (Philippians 4:8-9) [emphasis mine].
