God's Precious Gift To Christians, The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, Power For the Christian

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life (John 6:63 NIV).

I remember the day I read that scripture, when Jesus confirmed many things about our life in Christ.

As we learn and grow in the word, and as we understand the Scriptures with the help of the Spirit of God, it is the like a “signature on a cheque”.

We may say that our Lord Jesus is the perfect example of how the Christian life ought to be lived and His was a walk in the Spirit as opposed to a walk in the flesh.

Additionally, the Lord Jesus mentioned also that the life he spoke of was Spirit and life (John 6:63). It is interesting to see that from the beginning of the New Testament Jesus never spoke about physical things, but Spiritual things.

From the Scriptures we learned that the Disciples sometimes dare not ask he Lord question and Him being the incarnate word of life (1 John 1:14) He never made any mistakes by the things He was. In fact, we never heard Him say to His followers “sorry this is not what I meant to say or I made a mistake in explaining things” when he was talking to them. The Lord's speech was flawless and His every WORD carried the force of action, Halleluyah!

It is therefore remarkable to see the grace that followed Him. We read that the Lord would go out early in the morning to pray and this we know was in support of His earthly Ministry's work. Unlike many other Christian's, the Lord knew that the supporting power to His ministry was prayer and that alone sustains every Christian in a life of faith and any ministry's life. Anyway, let us continue with our discussion below.

So if the flesh count for nothing then the Christian life is of the Spirit entirely! this will benefit us to grow, to receive Joy, comfort, and to overcome things in this world that seem impossible to overcome, because there are so many temptations around us.

Thus, the Life in the Spirit is a life without sinning and led for no temptations and to overcome this world.

The life in the Spirit is not something that we do, but rather something that we are led to do (Romans 8:14). I met many Christian people who are well versed in the Scriptures, but sadly some of them their life in the Spirit is very weak, they think they have it all but then realise they don’t hear God properly and pretend they do. Praying is one thing but to hear God answering, is another thing.

Here are some examples of God Speaking to His people and God working with them through the same Holy Spirit, for instance,

(Exodus 3:11) God Speak with Him face to face, as one speak to a friend.

The Spirit of God came mightily on Samson (Judges 15:14).

Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them (Act 2:3).

Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind (2 King 2: 11-12).

The Spirit of God was hovering upon the waters (Genesis 1:2).

We see here that God uses his Spirit to do things and to do exploit, God is Spirit and he said we should worship him in truth and Spirit (John 4:24) this mean we need to trust him in the Spirit, and become conscious of our relationship with him daily. Jesus mentioned that without being born again of the water and Spirit we cannot see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-6).

Jesus insisted on being born again to see the Kingdom of God, because there is nothing of the flesh that can make us entering Heaven. This operation is of God and comes from God.

(1Corinthians 2:14) We need the Spirit to Know God perfectly and to understand him.It is impossible to know Jesus without being born again.

Jesus mentioned how the Holy Spirit comes and how He touches people (John 3:8).

Let us be forthright with the truth hers, the earthly position of holding a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies or any Theological studies won’t make them necessary entering Heaven, if He has not truly been born again.

We know that there must be a consistency between the known word and acting upon His word through the Spirit. The Spirit of God enable us to act upon God’s word and with power when our hearts are given to obedience.

And the word must change us by the guidance of His Spirit.

Knowing the words of the bible by heart does not mean it will make people enter Heaven; only when people are born again and baptised by His Spirit when they follow the Lord Jesus Christ in Humility,Love and through faith in Him. His Spirit will make us live a righteous life with peace within us.We cannot live a righteous or Holy Life without his Spirit, this mean we must be willing to obey God (this is our part) then God will do his part through His Spirit to educate us to change us and to prepare us for Eternity.

Generally most people will develop the some qualities as our Lord Jesus Christ like mercy, love, patience, understanding, visions and find themselves praying.

Why? because what is Spirit is Spirit so the Spirit is the one who transform, heal, deliver, baptise us, blesses us, and educate us. He will never force Himself on us but He is really happy when we obey the Lord and turn to him, or when we are led by Him totally.

This is the beginning of the relationship we have with God’s Spirit or with the Lord Jesus Christ's Spirit (John 14:26 - Galatians 4:6).

Now the most important and beautiful message in the whole world is His salvation for the entire human race.

Because what profit is there to gain the whole world (things to enjoy), and lose your own soul? what will it benefit you?..(Matthew 16:26 Mark 8:36) we know that God has sent his Son Jesus Christ to save us and to look after us, but God has not only come to save us, but to live in us and through us for his glory (John 14:23) this is an amazing and mightiest works that He has done, in the whole universe, even Angels marvelled at his Creation (1 Peter 1:12).

Now it is very easy to receive Christ, acknowledge all your mistakes and be sorry for them while repenting of your wrongs doings (1 John 1:10) and be led by His Spirit and might, learning how to please him and how to follow Him through his Spirit daily, in all confidence, so that your mistakes will be washed away in his precious blood and that His Spirit will enable you to overcome temptations of the flesh (1 John 1:7).

The day you begin to talk to Jesus, is the day you begin a new chapter in your life with Him, a new relationship, not only in this generation, but for all eternity.

Do you trust in the Lord? Are you waiting on the Lord’s promises?  If you are willing to turn your life over to God, please start by praying this Prayer of Sincere Repentance.
