Feasting On God's Word Daily

Living In The Word

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my wordshall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

Notice: We have added the new page on this Blog as "Latest Prophecies". Kindly watch out for latest prophetic messages from the Lord under this tab. There will be content soon!

Dear brothers and sisters, it has been EMPHASIZED many times in this ministry and in most articles on this website that Reading the Word of God is very important, and in this article, we would like to elaborate on some of the reasons why it is so important to stay in the Word.

Simply stated, the Holy Bible is like food for the soul and the soul needs good spiritual food in order for it to grow in faith, obedience and as a defense against demonic attacks (Matthew 4:4), if we do not feed our soul with the good nutritious spiritual food we will not grow very well in our faith and our relationship with the Lord. As it is, some people spend a lot of time and money looking after the physical being which is temporary, and neglect the spirit and the soul which will live for eternity. Don’t get us wrong there is nothing wrong with looking after your physical being but we also need to nourish and feed our spiritual being as well, even more so than the physical (Luke 12:23).

In the Gospel of John the Lord Jesus declared, “Jesus answered and said unto her, whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13 KJV).

Now, what is our Lord Jesus talking about here? Of course, the Lord is referring to the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39). He has been and is still giving the Holy Spirit to all believers as God’s first ‘down payment’ for our guaranteed (should we endure) salvation (1 Corinthians 1:21-22). Furthermore, we know that the Precious Spirit of the Lord works on our knowledge of God’s Word (Romans 10:17) to produce faith and fruit in our lives (John 15:4) to reproduce works of obedience.

Reading The Word of God

Brethren, this fact cannot be over-emphasized that we spend time in the Word of God daily because our salvation depends on this act of obedience, and by so doing; it keeps the Lord very close to us and our needs. In Malachi 3:16-17, we read, “Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him”.

And again in Revelations 1:3 we read “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand”.

We believe that this preceding scripture is not just talking about reading the book of Revelations but also the reading of the entire Bible on a daily basis and by doing that we will be blessed with knowledge, wisdom, prophecy, healing, faith and so many more great blessings. As we know, everything we need to know to work out our salvation with the Lord is in His Word.

Finally, as humble servants of the Lord, let us follow the Bible instructions in our walk with the Lord and He is faithful will impart Wisdom, knowledge, and His fear in our lives. By being exposed to the Scriptures daily, the Lord will reveal many things that are hidden in the scriptures which we can apply to our daily lives and which are profitable in any situation we may face. The Bible has the layers of the past, present, and future written into it so there is a prophecy that is yet to happen even in the old testament.

By being closer to God we will be able to “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7KJV).
