The Truth Of God's Word Does Find Its Origin In Humanity
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:21KJV).
A few years ago, the Lord gave us a message of rebuke to a minister of the gospel for spreading false testimony, and because this minister of the gospel was contributing to our ministry, he thought that he was above correction. When the Lord issued a prophetic word exposing the false things this minister was spreading, he attacked our ministry and even questioned the Lord's message.
Now, without going into much detail, this particular servant of the Lord thought that because he was helping our ministry, the Lord would only give him good messages. What he forgot was that he failed to realise that the Work of Ministry is a gift from God for His Glory (1 Corinthians 12:4-6), and being a servant, we are only performing our commanded duty (Luke 17:10), and when we make mistakes or sin, the Lord of the harvest lovingly provides guidance (Hebrews 12:6).
In another rebuke from the Lord, a Brother in Christ became angry with the Lord for being corrected. When we delivered the Lord's message to him, he questioned the Lord's authority when the Lord forbade him from going out to witness with our team as a punishment for the sin he committed.
Brethren, what we are trying to share with you today is that it doesn't matter what work we are doing for the Lord or how much money we give to the poor or ministries; our works will always fall short, and they will never compensate for truth and right living.
In addition, a few days ago my wife had to correct someone for her own well-being, risking the assistance she was receiving from the person. She had to remind that person that humility is needed to please God and to make it into God's Kingdom, and not our craving to always be right and faultless. The Lord is not pleased when we turn a blind eye to another person's mistakes; we might lose a benefit they were providing, but the value of that person's soul outweighs any financial benefit if such correction comes from a heart of love and real concern for someone else.
In conclusion, let us not be afraid to correct others who are wrong because we reap a financial benefit from them; if they are Christians, we have a duty to encourage them in a gentle spirit.
Blessed Regards
Brother Glenn
